The Movement of Water on Land

Continuum invites a return to our watery origins, places of connection with the sensations and feelings of the soma’s first order experiences. The movement of the Serpent onto land often mirrors our own transitions, as we learn to stay in touch with “our inner sea,” the rising and falling of the tidal waters of feelings and emotions, in meeting the intellect of dry land. Considering the serpent as metaphor for our own growth and movement through life, we begin to embody a coming together of opposites, the ouroboros of eternal return. We’ll explore the significance of moving waters, within and around us, with appreciation for how we are shaped by these living currents. The challenge is to keep the movement of swimming while on dry land. This is a four-week series of 2 hr classes. Gatherings are interactive and provide opportunities for both dialogue and taking our inquiries into a dive.

“Water is the explicate of an invisible primordial field governing and shaping all life processes on the Earth and beyond. The sinewy markings representing the Serpent are an undulating legacy: the movement of water on land.”
~ Emilie Conrad
